The Pizz. Self-taught, self-employed, and self-destructive, Pizz took a self-imposed break from painting during which he explored other media, such as magazine illustration, TV commercial design work, and computer animation. The break has done him good – the new crop of acrylics are his best work so far, presenting a quantum leap in form, style, and structure. Heightened color; torqued-into-overdrive radical perspective; density of imagery and twisting narrative distinguishes each piece from the other in style, subject matter, and delivery. Avoiding the E-Z marketing schemes of many of his artistic brethren, The Pizz stays true to his underground roots and uses the medium of painting as a forum to launch into his diatribes, rants, and dissertations against various perceived evils, sacred cows, and questionable institutions.
